NEW YORK, Feb 16 (Reuters) – U.S. stocks posted their biggest daily percentage gain in three months on Tuesday after Merck's strong revenues and regional pharmaceutical manufacturing data instilled confidence in economic prospects.
Shares in the maximum session ended at its best percentage advance of sessions of three months as buyers returned from a long weekend to offer broad-based populations support.Nearly 95% of the names on the S & P 500 gains booked this session but the movements were strongest power plays that took a collective 2.7%. The move was helped by a rise of 3.9% in crude oil prices, which established trading pit at $ 77.01 a barrel.
