It may take a time to work. I bought my nephew a gold bead on the web with a credit card and took a few time to implement. I think after he took a little more time to display on your Xbox that was gold, though I could see in my friends list that was gold. It is instant if you do it on your Xbox. I do not know if you can remove months you paid by accident, you have to ring MS.
